IceFishingCanada.ca helps anglers find ice fishing outfitters and send them inquiries. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to hello@icefishingcanada.ca.
When you send an inquiry
We collect your name, email, and anything else you put in the form (phone, party size, dates, your message). We send it to the outfitter you contacted, which is the point of the form. If they use GuideFlow, it goes to their GuideFlow inbox. If they haven't claimed their listing yet, we hold your message for up to 30 days until they do, and tell them only that an inquiry is waiting.
Once the outfitter has your message, they handle it under their own privacy practices. We also email you a copy.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the ice report, or tick the box on an inquiry, we keep your email, which regions you're interested in, and when and where you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Outfitters
Listings are built from information businesses publish on their own websites and tourism listings. Business email addresses are never shown on the site. We use them to tell a business when it has an inquiry. Any business can ask us to stop emailing it, or to remove its listing.
Spam protection and analytics
Forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. We store a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with inquiries to spot abuse, never the address itself. We may use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to understand how people find the site, only if you agree to them.
Where it's stored
Our database is hosted in Canada (Montreal region). Email is sent through Resend and the site runs on Vercel, which may process data in the United States.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you by emailing hello@icefishingcanada.ca. We'll answer within 30 days. We don't sell personal information.
